Airpro Mechanical is a Western Australian-owned company specialising in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of commercial HVAC and mechanical services systems. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to join our Team.
Based at our Neerabup office, this role involves travel to client sites throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia as required for project delivery.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and handover of commercial HVAC systems across a variety of commercial, industrial and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including pipework, ducted equipment, controls and associated mechanical services components.
- Carry out commissioning activities for newly installed HVAC systems to ensure performance and compliance with project specifications.
- Perform pressure testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging and leak detection.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications and commissioning documentation.
- Install and connect mechanical services equipment, including package units, split systems, VRF systems, chillers, pumps, ventilation systems and associated controls.
- Diagnose and rectify installation and commissioning defects.
- Complete testing and balancing activities in conjunction with project requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors and site personnel to ensure successful project delivery.
- Complete commissioning records, service reports, testing documentation and handover documentation.
- Assist with maintenance and service works where required.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Australian Standards, project specifications, WHS requirements and industry best practice.
Requirements:
- AQF Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or AQF Certificate IV qualification.
- Minimum three years' relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial HVAC installation and commissioning.
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- Current Manual Driver's Licence.
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within project teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Perth metropolitan and regional Western Australian areas as required.
